HUERFANO STATE WILDLIFE AREA CLEARING (HSWA) - aka STANLEY CREEK - TRAIL BOSS JERRY AMRHEIN 303-921-8238
This is an Overnight Pack-In clearing on BLM Land, Stanley Creek. Would like to have 6 to 8 volunteers to work this clearing. Riders must bring own tents, sleeping bags, flashlights, chairs, etc. Jerry will haul all equipment/items to the camp site via truck.
Plan to meet at HSWA campground at noon on Friday, June 12 to load all equipment, food, water, etc. into Jerry’s truck to take to the upper stock tank. Riders will rider to upper stock tank and make camp for the night. Dinner will be provided Friday night, as well as Saturday breakfast and lunch.
On Saturday, we will clear fallen trees on the Cascade Trail from the end of the BLM land to Cascade Park. Jerry hopes to pre-ride to see how much work is needed and we may spend another half day on Sunday to complete our work.
It would be very helpful on this trip to have a person with a pack horse or extra horse that can carry a pack. FRBCH can provide a pack saddle and pannier if needed, or bring your own packing equipment. There is a space on the sign up to indicate if you are able to help with a pack horse.
Thank you for signing up below to help with this project! Using our sign up below helps us with our planning. If you sign, up and cannot attend, please let Jerry know asap so he knows who to look for at the campground before heading up the trail.
