Speaker for this meeting will be our very own member, Jim Chaney, speaking about Barn Fire Safety! With our extra dry climate this year that’s a very important topic and Jim’s vast experiences in fire safety and prevention will be invaluable for us!
BARR LAKE STATE PARK BREAKFAST RIDE
TRAIL BOSS for this ride is Savanna Barnett 972-533-7210
$10 Daily Pass or CO. Parks Pass. FRBCH members are welcome to invite guests! Park by the Nature Center/round pen/playground. Trail is an 8.8 mile loop around the lake and is wide, mostly flat with packed dirt and loose gravel. Expect strollers, hikers and bikes. There are bridges that you may choose to get off and walk across, and a portion of the trail runs close to active railroad tracks. Please consider whether this is a good fit for your horse, the only option is to turn around early on the trail.
10:00am Breakfast/Brief Presentation about FRBCH and first aid essentials. Trail Boss Savanna will be in contact regarding breakfast details. Ready to ride 11:00am.

Member Meeting
Dr. Marc McCall has been the owner of Cherry Creek Equine since 1985 and is limited to the care and treatment of horses. Dr. McCall has special interest in equine lameness, surgery, medicine and dentistry. He also competes as an amateur in Calf Roping and Breakaway Roping. He will be sharing his insight developed over many years about the problems we, as horse owners, face with overweight horses and some guidance he provides to his clients.

ENTER THE PARK FROM MORRISON ROAD, TAKE 1ST RIGHT, FOLLOW THE ROAD PAST THE LAKE AND STABLES. TURN LEFT AT THE STABLES. YOU’LL SEE THE HORSE ARENA AND TRAILER PARKING ON THE LEFT. THE MOUNT CARBON LOOP TRAIL IS 6.7 MILES. FOOTING INCLUDES SAND, GRAVEL, SINGLE TRACK AND SHORT CEMENT SECTIONS. EXPECT DOGS, HIKERS, BIKES AND GOLFERS. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF CREEK CROSSINGS. 4:00 PM BRIEF PRESENTATION ABOUT FRBCH. READY TO RIDE 5:00 PM. MOCKTAILS AND SNACKS TO SHARE FOLLOWING THE RIDE. NO ENTRY FEE. FRBCH MEMBERS ARE WELCOME TO INVITE GUESTS TO THIS RIDE. SANDSTONE HAS A LARGE PARKING LOT, TRAILERS NORMALLY PARK IN THE CENTER OF THE LOT. BRING WATER FOR HORSES. APPROXIMATELY 7-9 MILE LOOP OF SOFT SANDY FOOTING, SHOES NOT REQUIRED. THERE ARE RATTLESNAKES IN THE AREA ALTHOUGH NOT SEEN OFTEN. HEAVILY VISITED BY HIKERS, EQUISTRIANS, BIKERS AND DOGS. READY TO RIDE 10:00AM. RIDE FOLLOWED BY A BRIEF PRESENTATION ABOUT FRBCH AND “LAND MANAGEMENT 101” ALONG WITH A CHILI POTLUCK.
