Rolling Creek Trail Clearing

This is a Trail Clearing in partnership with Friends of Mount Evans and Lost Creek (FOMELC).

Ride out at 9:30 am. Please be at the trail head early enough to park and tackup by 9:30am.

Trail description: First 3 miles were cleared this winter, with gently rolling terrain and stream crossings. Lost Creek Wilderness begins mile 3-6.5 with many downed logs to be removed. Trail begins a steep climb up the canyon. This is an in and out trail.

Directions: Take 285 South to Bailey approximately 28 miles. At the bottom of Crow Hill turn left onto the first paved road, CR 68 past several businesses. Follow sign to the Outdoor Lab and Wellington Lake, approximately 8.5 miles. Bumpy road. Before you get to Outdoor Lab, Rolling Creek Trailhead is on the right. Room for 3-4 rigs if no cars. If lot is full proceed to Outdoor Lab to turn around and park on the road just before the trail head parking lot.

Horse shoes or boots recommended. Bring a lunch and enough water for day ride. Bring gloves, work footwear. Helmets available. No chainsaws allowed in wilderness. Sawyer equipment will be provided. Contact Karen Chaney for more information.
