Part of Lost Creek Wilderness - Room in Parking Area for 5 rigs. Moderate trail, easy to navigate, dirt packed with some rocky stretches, wide, gradual climb. Some narrow trail with side drop offs, switchbacks and water crossings. Trail Head appoximately 7800 ft. altitude.
Shoes or boots recommended to prevent chipped hooves. Bring lunch & plenty of water for yourself. Not advised for beginner horses or riders - need to be trail aware and self-sufficient. Each rider will also carry a saw to use on the trail - no chainsaws.
Directions: SW onUS285 to Bailey. Turn left at Conoco station, cross creek left on CR64. SW until you see a church on left where road divides. Continue straight up the hill onto the gravel road. Proceed appoximately 2 miles to a National Forest trailhead on left side of road. Go past the trailhead about 150 years, turn right onto dirt road and find a parking spot in the meadow or adjoining dirt roads.
